Welcome to the CIRA/ATS Mentoring Program (CAMP) page!

We aim to create strong mentoring relationships within Colorado State University's Department of Atmospheric Science and strengthen the network of our alumni community. We place first-year Atmospheric Science students with mentoring pods composed of students and faculty. In addition to creating mentoring pods, CAMP creates the opportunity for current students to learn about and communicate with alumni by maintaining an updated list of active alumni that are interested in networking and interacting with current students.

FAQ

I want to contact an alumni from the alumni network page. Can I email them directly?

Yes! The alumni on this page have volunteered to participate in the alumni network page and are therefore expecting people to contact them. Just keep in mind response times will vary.

My pod has not been meeting but I want them to, how do I encourage my pod to meet?

If you haven't already, try sending an email out to your group. The members of the pod may be busy and just need a reminder. If you have tried and your pod is not receptive, contact us and we will assist you in setting up pod meetings.

If I am having a problem with my pod, who do I talk to?

Please send us an email or talk to a member of the CAMP leadership team. Depending on the nature of your problem there are many actions we can take such as assigning you to a new pod, listening and being supportive of your concerns, and/or pointing you to a variety of resources.

How can I learn more about effective mentoring?
